Hey! Thanks for checking out my site. My name is Griffin Schiller and I'm an LA-based Entertainment Journalist and Critic from Frederick, MD. A graduate of Purdue University with a B.S. in Computer Graphics Technology and Certificate in Entrepreneurship, I'm driven by my passion for and love of cinema that harkens back to the first time I saw George Lucas's masterpiece "The Phantom Menace" (I know sarcasm doesn't convey well in text, but just roll with it.)
My experiences working on award-winning short films such as Amends (2017) and Slayte (2016), and music videos for the bands Take Care and WVNDER have enriched my knowledge of the filmmaking process that I have applied to Entertainment Journalism and Film Criticism. I have contributed to outlets such as AwardsCircuit and currently, host The Fourth Wall Podcast at The Playlist where I have conducted interviews with the likes of Daniel Craig, Zack Snyder, Claire Foy, Pierce Brosnan, Keanu Reeves, Olivia Wilde, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Damien Chazelle (to name a few), reported on industry news, reviewed the latest Hollywood releases and provided film festival coverage. However, my passion for entertainment doesn't stop there, as I also run my own YouTube channel and publication, FilmSpeak, for which I put my background in video production to good use. For the past 5+ years, I have written, filmed, and edited weekly reviews, essays, podcasts, and other creative content that have sparked thoughtful conversations among a dedicated fanbase. I am a member of the Hollywood Critics Association (HCA), a self-proclaimed Christopher Nolan fanboy and James Bond aficionado who obsesses over the latest fashion trends and can listen to Hans Zimmer on repeat for days. In July of 2015, a couple of friends and I launched Men vs. Movies; a YouTube Channel, website and brand dedicated to all things film and entertainment. What started out as a simple hobby quickly evolved into a legitimate career path providing me with access and opportunities I could've only dreamed of when first starting out. The publication has since become FilmSpeak where we like to say. the conversation continues after the credits.
On a weekly basis, I give my audience exclusive insight, analysis, and interviews behind the entertainment they love.
